The Line 3 Replacement Program is the largest project in the client’s history. It consists of a C$5.3-billion Canadian component and a US$2.9-billion American component to fully replace 1,031 miles (1,660 kilometres) of Line 3 with new pipeline and associated facilities on either side of the Canada-U.S. international border. The Plex team members were responsible for the engineering and project management of the Canadian decommissioning scope for Line 3 which consisted of the permanent cessation of 1100 km of 34-inch diameter pipeline. The Plex team members were responsible for the
following aspects of this project:
Completion of front-end engineering design and detailed design phases
Plex applied a risk-based approach to relocate six pipelines near Cheecham Terminal, ensuring safety, compliance, and environmental protection.
Plex optimized nitrogen use for the $8.2B Line 93 Replacement, providing planning, engineering, logistics, and seamless execution support.
Plex managed NDE and repairs for five complex pipelines, delivering execution plans ensuring efficient, compliant remediation and environmental protection.
