Our client operates a pipeline transporting crude oil and refined products from Edmonton, Alberta (“AB”) to points in Washington State and the lower mainland of British Columbia (“BC”). The mainline is a 24 to 36-inch diameter high pressure
steel pipeline capable of transporting 300,000 barrels of liquid hydrocarbons per day.
Plex’s client performs Anomaly Assessments on pre-determined segments of pipe from data provided by in-line inspection (ILI) tools. The basic form of remediation includes dewatering of site, excavation of the
pipeline, removal of coatings (including sandblasting), Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) of the pipeline, pipeline repair activities including sleeve installations, coating application (including sandblasting), backfill
and site remediation.
Plex provided project management and implementation services to facilitate the NDE and subsequent repairs of 5 locations identified from ILI data. These 5 locations had elevated complexity requiring the preparation of Project Execution Plans that include the following key deliverables:
Plex applied a risk-based approach to relocate six pipelines near Cheecham Terminal, ensuring safety, compliance, and environmental protection.
Plex led engineering, project management, and stakeholder engagement for the 1,100 km Line 3 pipeline decommissioning in Canada.
Plex optimized nitrogen use for the $8.2B Line 93 Replacement, providing planning, engineering, logistics, and seamless execution support.
