Your project vision—powered by integrated expertise.
Effective project management means anticipating the challenges of large energy projects before they’ve begun. We understand that success at any scale depends on meticulous planning, strong leadership, and continuous communication. Our project management team ensures that your project progresses smoothly through every stage, from initial planning to final delivery.
We specialize in delivering efficient engineering services with a strong focus on expert project management. Our team of experienced engineers and project managers work seamlessly with stakeholders and vendors to ensure that each project, no matter the scale or complexity, is executed with precision, efficiency, and on budget.
We begin every project by developing a detailed roadmap, identifying key milestones, and setting clear goals. This ensures all stakeholders are aligned from the outset.
Through a focus on proactive risk management, we identify potential challenges early and develop strategies to mitigate them. This approach minimizes delays, cost overruns, and unexpected issues.
Managing the project budget is critical to its success. Our project managers are experts at balancing costs while delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet or exceed your requirements.
We understand the importance of meeting deadlines. Our team uses advanced scheduling tools to track progress and ensure that every project phase stays on track, allowing us to deliver on time without compromising quality.
Clear communication with all stakeholders is essential. We provide regular updates, reports, and meetings to ensure that you are always informed and involved in decision-making processes.
We implement rigorous quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that engineering designs and construction meet the highest standards of excellence.
Energy projects require complex planning that balances cost-effectiveness, environmental impact, and public safety. With all stakeholders and vendors working together, this plan can be created with an execution mindset.
Our scalable processes provide balanced and detailed insights into all costs, implications, and risks from the outset, as well as reductions in labour redundancies.
Plex’s team has first-hand experience as owners, contractors, engineers, land owners, regulators, and SME stakeholders. This unique perspective is unparalleled when starting new projects or improving existing infrastructure.
IPD is a highly equitable process that uses multi-party agreements. In these arrangements, all key participants share in the project's risks and rewards, aligning their interests and promoting a unified approach to project management and delivery.
Some challenges include the need for cultural change among team members, the requirement for upfront investment in collaboration tools, and the complexity of managing a multi-party agreement. With these in place, our project management teams can handle site-specific challenges transparently.
IPD encourages early involvement of key stakeholders in our project management ecosystem, leading to better decision-making, reduced rework, and streamlined processes. We have learned that thorough integration of parties significantly enhances project efficiency.
IPD is designed to be flexible, allowing for more efficient change management and budget clarity as projects evolve. Its collaborative nature ensures that changes are discussed and addressed quickly, minimizing disruptions.
For the Line 3 Replacement Program, Plex managed the engineering and project management for the Canadian decommissioning of 1,100 km of pipeline. Plex’s scope included front-end and detailed engineering, construction support, procurement, contractor management, and NEB application development, along with expert witness support. The team also provided stakeholder engagement, decommissioning standards, and coordinated environmental and safety protocols, ensuring a smooth decommissioning process.
READ MOREThe Cheecham Corridor Relocation Project (CCR) involved relocating six pipelines near the Cheecham Terminal in Ft. McMurray. To meet regulatory requirements, Plex’s founders applied a risk-based approach, conducting a thorough review of standards and performing a detailed risk assessment. Using the clients Risk Management Matrix, the team defined a cost-effective abandonment plan, optimizing public safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance throughout the pipeline abandonment process.
READ MOREThe Line 93 Replacement Program is valued at C$5.3 billion in Canada and US$2.9 billion in the U.S., replacing 1,031 miles of pipeline. Plex Projects supported in the Line 93 linefill, developing a valve manipulation program to optimize nitrogen usage, reducing costs. Plex also provided execution planning, field engineering, logistics management, and daily updates, ensuring seamless project execution.
READ MOREPlex supported in managing and implementing Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and repairs on five high-complexity pipeline locations identified by in-line inspection data. Plex developed comprehensive Project Execution Plans, including site mapping, Environmental Protection Plans, permitting, resource planning, schedule management, cost forecasting, and Inspection Test Plan review. This ensured efficient and compliant remediation for these critical pipeline segments.
